Lynley Atwood, OD
Dr. Lynley Atwood grew up in Edwardsville, Illinois. After graduating from Edwardsville High School, she continued her education at Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri where she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences. She is a 2016 graduate of University of Missouri College of Optometry in St. Louis where she was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa honors fraternity and was the academic chair for the Class of 2016. She is currently a member of the American Optometric Association and the Illinois Optometric Association.
Jenni Thomas
Jennifer Thomas is the Office Manager at Bethalto Family Vision Care and has been in the optical field since 2001. In our practice, she loves to educate patients on various lens and frame options. Jenni enjoys spending time camping with her husband Josh and her daughters Kylie and Keagan.
Daniel Rapp
Dan grew up in Dahlgren, Illinois. He went to McKendree University where he received a Bachelors of Science in Biology. Currently, Dan is a student at the University of Missouri - St. Louis College of Optometry. He really enjoys working as a technician and getting some hands-on experience. His hobbies include kayaking and watching movies.

Mark Ellison, OD
Mark Ellison, O.D., earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign where he was a member of Phi Eta Sigma. From there, he graduated cum laude with his Doctorate in Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago.In 1980 he returned to the area where he grew up and established his practice in Bethalto, Illinois. With more than 35 years of experience, he practices full-scope optometry while ensuring that the equipment used in his practice is state-of-the-art. With regard to optometry, he finds most interesting the effects of nutrition on eyes and vision. Additionally, he enjoys working with “hard to fit” contact lenses — specifically, those dealing with bifocals, astigmatism, and rigid lenses. Dr. Ellison is proud to be involved in the local community. He is the President of the Fosterburg Fire Protection District and is a general member of the Wood River Lions Club. He has been a member of the American Optometric Association since 1978. In the past, he has been involved in the Boy Scouts of America, the Bethalto Boys and Girls Club, and the Bethalto Rotary. He also had the pleasure of traveling to Jupiter, Florida with the St. Louis Cardinals Baseball Club to act as their optometrist in 2005 – 2007. In his free time, Dr. Ellison enjoys spending time with his wife and their dogs. They have two adult children, two children-in-law and one grandchild.
Tammy Carter
Tammy Carter is an Optometric Assistant who has worked with Dr. Ellison for over 20 years. As an assistant, she answers the phones, schedules appointments, and is the first friendly face you see when you come into the office. Tammy most enjoys working closely with patients and building a relationship with them. In her free time, Tammy enjoys bike riding and walking, but most of all, she likes to spend time with her daughter and son-in-law and five grandchildren.
